Did you or anyone you know play high school or college football and want to play again? If this is you, the Minneapolis Warriors might be the perfect fit for you.
Please read the following. As a new player for the Warriors, if you make the team, here are a few important things to know:
1. Our SEASON runs from April to August and practices typically start indoors in late winter.
2. During the season, we hold PRACTICE every Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM in Fridley Minnesota and our games are on Saturdays. HOME GAMES are played at North High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For AWAY GAMES, outside of Minnesota, we travel and caravan to Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Missouri, and the Dakotas.
3. COMMUNICATION is important! Can’t make it to practice, to the game, or to anything that may be going on, let us know. We understand everyone has lives outside of semi-pro football so all we ask is for you to communicate.
4. FILM SESSIONS are held over Zoom: on Tuesdays for Offense at 7 PM and on Fridays for Defense at 7 PM.
5. KEY CONTACTS: Head Coach, Michael "MJ" Johnson is the contact person for anything related to practices & roster dealings. CEO Krista Clausen is the contact person for all things related to finance such as player payment plans, as well as other team management items.
6. PLAYER FEES: The cost to play for the Minneapolis Warriors each season is $250(payment plans are available for this.) In addition, there is a $25 League Fee charged by the HFA per player.
7. EQUIPMENT: We do not supply pads or equipment. You will need a White Helmet with a White Facemask. We have a vendor who can paint your existing helmet "white" professionally for $30. There are many resources available to obtain equipment and we can help point you in the right direction after you've made the team.
