MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - The Minneapolis Warriors of the Heartland Football Association (HFA), will be holding our annual open tryout on October 23, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Armstrong HS in Plymouth, Minnesota. Athletes who are at least 18 years old and have previously participated in high school, college or any level higher are invited to attend.
Each year we have turnover on our roster, this turn over comes from: players getting arena football opportunities, player retirements, player relocations and so on. Because of this our team relies on adding high quality/fresh talent to our roster each and every season. This very tryout is where we identify those new players and invite them to join the roster.
Tryout positions include Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Tight End, Offensive Line, Defensive Tackle, Edge Rusher, Linebacker, Defensive Back and Specialists.
This year's open tryout will be held under the direction of our National Championship winning Head Coach, Michael "MJ" Johnson and his 2023 coaching staff.
The tryout will consist of the following:
- 40-yard Dash: Skill Positions Only
- 20-yard Dash: OL/DL Only
- Broad Jump
- 20-Yard Shuttle
- 3 Cone Drill
- Push Up Max Rep for 1 Minute
- Position-Specific Drills
- Competitions Drills
Check in and registration will open on October 23 at 1:00 PM at the Armstrong High School football field, located at 10635 36th Ave N, Plymouth, MN 55441. The tryout will begin promptly at 2:00 PM on the Armstrong Football Field.
All tryout participants will be required to submit a registration payment and sign a waiver and release form. Pre-registration is $25. You can pay this fee at the following link:

Participants who decide to register day-of, the registration fee increases to $30 per participant. Pre-registration is now open and will close on Friday, October 22, 2022 at 11:59 PM. Day-of registration will open at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2022.
Be sure to dress warm, bring hydration for yourself and wear cleats. Football pads nor football helmet is required for this open tryout.
