Warriors continue winning ways and defeat Tri-State in HFA home opener

New Brighton, Minnesota - It's a brand new season, it's a brand new league and half the roster is brand new but, the Minneapolis Warriors continue their winning ways. Yesterday the Warriors defeated the Tri-State Tridents (From Wayne, Nebraska) 41 to 0 in their HFA home opener.

In the game, a few familiar Warriors showed up and contributed. Warriors Running Back Isiah Sims started the season in mid-season form. Sims scored 2 rushing touchdowns and 2 receiving touchdowns. Sims caught these touchdown passes from a familiar name, Quarterback Ayrton Scott. Scott helped the Warriors win their first NEFL Championship back in 2017 and lead the Warriors to their first USA Bowl National Championship appearance, where they would eventually fall to the Texas Xtreme. Now Scott returns to lead the Warriors under center once again, replacing departed National Championship winning Quarterback, Ja'Vonte Johnson, who this offseason had gotten signed to play professional football for the Tri-City Rush Arena Football team along with Warriors teammate, Wide Receiver Moe Strong.

Another returning player for the Warriors, Linebacker Josh Vaughan also contributed on defense with 3 assisted tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1defensive touchdown on an interception. The Warriors lost Vaughan to a season-ending injury early on in the year. It's great to see Josh back on the field for the Warriors.

The next Warriors home game is set for May 21st at Spring Lake Park HS in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota where the Warriors will host the powerful Omaha Stockmen. That game will kick off at 4 PM, tickets will be for sale at the gate.
